Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Gretchen Hoge, PhD, LCSW

I received my Master of Social Work degree from Loyola University Chicago and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I also hold a Doctor of Philosophy in Social Work from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

I work with children, teens, and adults, specializing in supporting individuals who have experienced trauma and domestic violence. I also enjoy helping individuals navigate life transitions related to relationships, parenting, careers, aging, and illness, as well as individuals experiencing anxiety and depression.

I have worked in acute settings and community organizations with children, teens, and adults who have experienced domestic violence, trauma, anxiety, depression, and chronic illness. My experience has also included working with clients who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, individuals navigating the immigration system, and pregnant and postpartum individuals. I also have a background in higher education.

I practice using a relational, trauma-informed, attachment-focused, strength-based approach and believe clients are the experts of their own lives. I frequently incorporate Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT, ACT, narrative therapy, play therapy, and expressive arts techniques into my work. I am trained in EMDR and have completed the Trauma Research Foundation’s Traumatic Stress Studies Certificate.

In my free time, I enjoy listening to podcasts while walking in nature, reading historical fiction novels, creative writing, singing, playing piano, and having dance parties with my spouse and children.
