Licensed Professional Counselor

Bria Williams-Roby, M.Ed, LPC

As a therapist, my goal is to create a space where clients feel heard, in control, and safe. By exploring meaning and helping clients understand their worldview, I guide them in separating their identity from their symptoms, allowing them to reclaim their power. I use a narrative approach, believing that clients are the authors of their own lives. Everyone has a story, and I empower my clients to rewrite theirs.

“I recognize that every experience—both the joyful and the challenging—has contributed to the unique person you are today.”

I hold a Master of Education degree from DePaul University and am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals as a mental health counselor and psychiatric crisis therapist, as well as in schools and private practice. I have supported individuals dealing with substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, grief, suicidal thoughts, trauma, and racial identity issues.

Working from a multicultural, trauma-informed lens, I am deeply passionate about serving BIPOC communities. As a Black woman, I am committed to promoting diversity, equity, justice, and inclusion. I also have a special interest in working with teens and adults, and as a doula, I am particularly passionate about supporting pregnant and new mothers.

In my free time, I enjoy cuddling with my dogs, reading, binge-watching shows, watching classic movies, listening to music, practicing yoga and Pilates, and spending time with family and friends.
