My passion for being a therapist comes from a desire to help those who are struggling find peace, meaning, and connection in their lives. There is nothing more powerful than watching someone move beyond what once felt impossible.
Over the course of my career, my work has evolved to center on the treatment of eating disorders and trauma, while also integrating approaches that support anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. I feel most connected in my work with teens and adult women who experience eating disorders, trauma histories, and co-occurring struggles such as perfectionism, shame, or self-injury. I also bring extensive experience in supporting those navigating poor body image, body dysmorphia, and profound disconnection from their bodies.
My approach is integrative, grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS) while weaving in evidence-based practices such as CBT-ED, ACT, and DBT. I view symptoms as adaptive parts of a larger system, and through curiosity and compassion, help clients shift from self-criticism to self-trust. I work from a Health At Every Size (HAES) framework and emphasize restoring the mind-body connection, which is often disrupted by trauma, stress, or life transitions.
I am also trained in EMDR and integrate trauma-focused approaches to help clients process the past, regulate their nervous system, and move from disconnection toward integration. Whether I am providing direct therapy or supervision, my goal is always to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients and clinicians alike feel empowered to step into their own capacity for growth.
Above all, I want my clients to feel heard, supported, and empowered, knowing that my goal is to provide them with a safe space to be their authentic selves. I want my clients to know that I am human as well, I am no different than they are, and under no circumstances would I judge them for the struggles they are facing.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist + Consultant with a Master of Social Work from Grand Valley State University. I am trained in EMDR, certified in Crisis Prevention, and have experience across all levels of care, including inpatient, residential, and outpatient treatment. In addition to my clinical practice, I provide consultation and supervision to clinicians working with eating disorders and trauma.
