We don’t have to be alone in our struggles.
Several years ago, I heard this story: “A man was walking down a street when he falls into a hole. The walls are so steep that he can’t get out. A doctor passes by, and the guy shouts up, “Hey you! Can you help me out?” The doctor writes a prescription, throws it down in the hole, and moves on. Then a priest comes along, and the guy shouts up, “Father, I’m down in this hole, can you help me out?” The priest writes out a prayer, throws it down in the hole, and moves on. Then a friend walks by, “Hey Joe, it’s me. Can ya’ help me out?” And the friend jumps in the hole. Our guy says, “What the hell are ya’ doin’? Now we’re both down here.” The friend says, “Yeah, but I’ve been down here before, and I know the way out.”
I love this story! It reminds me that we don’t have to be alone in our struggles. In fact, the best way out is through connection with a trusted guide. If you’ve ever felt like you’re in a dark hole, trapped by life’s circumstances and starting to lose hope, I would love to work with you to help you find your way out.
I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families to help them recover from the ongoing effects of past trauma, anxiety, and relational disconnection.
I collaborate with clients to leverage their natural strengths toward greater integration of their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual natures to increase personal agency and hope. I am empathic and caring and delighted to see my clients become more fully themselves.
