Each of Us Hopes to Live a Good Life.
Yet it’s not uncommon for any of us to feel as if our self-worth, relationships, and day-to-day existence are not where we hoped they’d be. When this happens, therapy can be a transformative process in which we come to more thoroughly understand ourselves, and one in which we develop insights and strengths that lead us to a more fulfilling and rewarding life.
I work with children ages 5-13, teens and adults on a wide variety of issues, with a special interest in parenting education and support.
While I believe it’s important to understand how the past impacts the present, we will spend the majority of our time together finding practical solutions to help you feel better quickly. I don’t shy away from conflict and tend to be lovingly direct. I use humor where appropriate because sometimes a little comic relief is exactly what we need to look more honestly at ourselves.
I also specialize in helping young people and their parents think through post high school direction and choices. Deciding what you want to do with your life when you’re only 16 or 17 years old is hard! I try to make that process easier by using a whole person approach and the most advanced testing available. The result is a set of insights that makes clear the intersection of the teen’s individual interests, aptitudes, and skills that align with their natural abilities rather than a passing interest.
